How come port number is taken when server already stops
Hi, I am still new to STS. Just wondering if anyone had the same problem before. I made some code changes then when I tried to restarted the server, I saw the following error.
"Port 8080 required by SpringSource tc Server 6.0 is already in use. The server may already be running in another process, or a system process may be using the port. To start this server, you will need to stop the other process or change the port number(s)."
Apparently the server has been stopped and I even tried to restart the STS IDE.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Chris

I have found the cause, java process is still running after I close STS... Did you guys see the same thing?
I have to kill the java process manually.

You do not say what version of STS you are running (latest is 2.5.0.RELEASE), and your message indicates you are referring to the tc Server (not dm Server).
Would your question be better served on the tc Server General forum?
