Default New Spring Support Forums are Live

The Spring team is pleased to announce that the new Spring support forums are live. The forums are available at:
    http://forum.springframework.org

The new forum infrastructure will allow support questions to be answered in a more efficient fashion, but with less chance of things slipping through the cracks. Additionally, users may easily search for existing answers to their questions, hopefully reducing effort for everybody.

It is expected that the use of the existing SourceForge forums and SourceForge 'springframework-user' mailing list will be replaced by the new forums, after an initial short trial period running in parallel. We encourage all users to direct support questions to the new forums. While we understand that some users do like mailing lists for support, it is important to realize that consolidating to the new forum infrastructure will reduce duplication, and save time for Spring developers, allowing them to work more on code and documentation. The dev list will continue to be used for spring development.

Note that while a default look and feel is set for new forum users, you may from the preferences page of the site choose another template that is more to your liking. 6-7 template variations have been installed.

    Regards,
    Colin

Would acegi security be added by any chance? I thought it falls under spring-related category. But otherwise good work for the new forums!!

    Default email subscription

Is there any option to get all messages to a particular forum forwarded by email? There was on the sourceforge forums, and it was a feature I find particulary helpful. That way, I see every message, at least briefly; whereas if I have to go into the forums to see new messages, I probably won't.

Will you continue to post announcements at Sourceforge? The RSS feed is a very convenient way to keep up with file release announcements and other news.

It's most excellent that you guys decided to ditch the very non-user-friendly source-forge forums. Now it's a lot more convenient to post, search, etc. Thanks and props to the Spring team.

    Regards,
    Ken

You could use a 'meta' or 'misc' forum or something of that sort, for discussion of the forums themselves, the web site, etc.
