STS 2.7.1.0 installation error

I am not able to install STS 2.7.1.0 on my windows XP system. I have downloaded 32 bit exe and when I tried to install showing uninformative error dialog. invalid type code: 00. What can be the issue. Plz guide me... Thanq

I am not sure why you are seeing that problem. You can try installing from an update site. Follow these instructions:

You will need an instance of the JEE edition of Eclipse indigo.

You could also try to download the ZIP package of STS for Win32, unzip that into a location of your choice and start from there.

Thank you, I have tried all the ways and decided to install older version. I was able to install 2.5.1 successfully.

FYI, I have successfully upgraded (via Eclipse update sites) from STS 2.5.0 through 2.7.1, so you should be able to do that.
