Default installation fails due to readonly flag

This is weird. Host is Windows XP. I unpacked the tcServer full edition to a temporary folder Then opened a command prompt and ran the install.bat. I get the following error

    -------
Checking for installation as non-root... Dependency verifie
Checking for writable directory... !! Error !!
    This directory appears un-writable...
    --------

So how come i am the only person facing this problem? I don't see any switch in install.bat that would avoid this check. Even Windows OS disregards readonly flag (and uses it for storing some other flag, which is even crazier). Why does the install procedure look for it?

I would appreciate if anyone could suggest how to circumvent this issue.

    Thanks

Got it working finally. I had earlier used powerarchiver to unzip the jar. Now i used the Sun jar tool instead. And that worked.

For future reference: The jar file is self extracting on windows. You just needed to double click on it.

True, just that it doesn't always work. It didn't work in my machine.
