Does OpenSessionInViewInterceptor begin a Transaction before rendering the view?

Hi,

When using OpenSessionInViewInterceptor, does Spring maintain an open transaction during the rendering of the view (which in turn performs lazy initialization)?

I'm specifically curious about how this interceptor would avoid the problem described here. https://www.hibernate.org/43.html#A8
