Spring Roo 1.0.0.RC4 Released

Spring Roo 1.0.0.RC4 has just been released. Spring Roo provides interactive, lightweight, user customizable tooling that enables rapid delivery of high performance enterprise Java applications.

This new release features:

• Over 90 fixes and improvements since RC3
• Updated to Spring Framework 3 official release, including extensive use of the new conversion API
• Automatic recording of Roo scripts whenever you're working with Roo
• Usability enhancements like TAB-based option help, a more informative prompt, filename completion etc
• Colour console messages under Windows by default and without needing to install a separate add-on (screen shot)
• Italian locale support
• More advanced date customisation options
• Upgrade to Spring Security 3.0.0.RC2

If you're using SpringSource Tool Suite, you will need to upgrade to STS 2.3.0 to use Roo 1.0.0.RC4. The new STS version supports an API change that improves the experience for Windows users. STS is free to download and use.

If you're currently using Roo for your projects, please refer to the "Upgrade Notes" in the reference guide. This will assist you move from Roo 1.0.0.RC3 to Roo 1.0.0.RC4.
