Foundry + Amazon RDS
I am currently working on an application that will use Amazon RDS for the database and NOT EC2 servers, and EC2 for the Web Servers, etc.
It is my understanding that currently the DB configuration for CF uses EC2 instances and EBS snapshots. This being the case do we anticipate CF included new template features soon for RDS? I don't know as if I have used more acronyms in once paragraph before...
Has anyone else actually used this setup already on CF? Advice? Tips?

Thanks for trying Cloud Foundry.
Support for RDS is planned but we don't have a specific date yet.
Currently, you would need to ignore the DB that CF configures and have your application talk to the RDS

Love the number of acronyms in a single sentence. We are working on adding RDS support in Cloud Foundry. Hopefully we can get it out soon (next couple of months).

Seems the new post of AWS will make a good way to deploy war file: http://bit.ly/hcWvnn

@YuvalRon, Im not sure what's the comment/plans of cloud foundry with the new AWS feature. .
I just tested the sample app and it sets up autoscaling , load balancer and the ec2 instance easily.

while i haven't tested it myself yet, from first impression of my team it still looks kind of premature for serious work. i know it's still in beta and all but unlike cloud foundry there are very few options for deployment, some of them we actually need.
on the other hand, to me it looks like cloud foundry itself is somewhat discontinued lately, which is too bad because its natural stack should be fitting like a glove to most Spring + MySQL developers.
