no GrantedAuthority - what?

I'll admit I'm pretty new to grails, etc. And very new to acegi security. And that I've looked all over for any information about what this means, and killed hours on it so far.

Hopefully someone can set me straight.

I have acegi setup with grails, and I'm trying to test a login (with the acegi provided views/controllers). I have roles setup, everything looks good in the database when i create a user.

But when I login I get:
User [someuser] has no GrantedAuthority

pleeeaaaase help, anyone. thank you a bajilion times in advance!
