hey, i tried both on windows (vista 64) and Linux (ubuntu 9.4, 32) with no luck. in both cases, the installation went smoothly, however when trying to run the executable nothing happens (to be exact, the first time i tried running in windows it did jump a window that asked if the installation went well - i clicked on yes and then it thought for a bit and nothing. in Linux, trying to run the executable generates a new zero size file in the sts folder, named "@#$%^(invalid encoding)" ( not exactly @#$%^, but some weird symbols).

id rather not use the update site because I'm planning on installing sts in environment that has no internet connection.

another question, is it possible to use openjdk as the jdk? i couldn't select it during the Linux installation

please tell me if any more information is needed to diagnose the problem
