Thread: Shell hanging

    Default Shell hanging

My shell hangs quite often when I use the diag and headers command. I am using putty on Windows XP.

Another problem I encountered was that my bundle had a uses violation. As a result, "start <bundle-id>" failed. But diag <bundle-id> didn't return the violation information consistently. I started the server clean four times; it returned the information twice, and didn't do it the other two times. "headers <bundle-id>" hung my putty session all the time.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi,

Would it be possible for you to raise a JIRA for this one, it sounds like a bug but I will need more information to diagnose it. The bundles you are deploying would be particularly useful for recreating the uses violation. Also, are you running both the server and client on Windows XP or is the server on something else?

    Created DMS-1797.

By the way, it would be nice if the shell supports some of the functionalities of the admin console. Another helpful feature would be running a script of commands.

    Thanks.

    Thanks, Candy.

Great suggestion about running scripts. Could I ask you to raise a story for this please?

We have more work in the pipeline for the shell, e.g. allowing you to install, stop, start, refresh, and uninstall all kinds of artifacts. We're starting a new sprint next week and shell improvements will be one of the major items: you should see some major progress in this area in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks, I have added it to our release backlog, it will get discussed in the team shortley.

Also, I'm starting work on the defect you raised, DMS-1797. We have just started a new 2 week sprint, it will be fixed during this.

    Chris.
