    Arrow Timeline for Private clouds

    Hey Spring Cr(l)owd,

I am on a client site, where they are actively looking for a suitable cloud environment.

The only restriction is - it should be private.

Now, I have read Rod's post that mentioned: "In the future, Cloud Foundry will give developers a consistent experience over both public (off-premise) and private (on-premise) clouds".

What is the timeline of "the future"? I know Foundry is still in beta, but are there any dates / or maybe it is already available as private, but I just could not find the docs?

    Thanks,

    Hi Litius,

We are finalizing the acquisition by VMware and will not be able to speak to the roadmap until it's closed next quarter. However, we can say that Cloud Foundry is expected to have a beta period of 6-8 months, which serves to help us gather feedbacks and improve the product. In that timeframe, the service will undoubtedly be enhanced and additional products based on the platform may be available as private or public betas. You should expect that any Cloud Foundry based products will only become generally available after the beta period. Thanks.
