is it possible to write our own way of exposing the remote objects ourselves.

I have a strange requirement which shouldnt be done the remote invocation over HTTP/ RMI. We need ot write our own way of getting implementation done. so i was wondering if its possible for us to write remoting parallel to the spring HTTP remoting.

Any ideas/ pointers ? Kindly help
