Default Bundle repository browser does not install bundles

Using the Bundle Repository Browser I can search for bundles from the SpringSource Repo.

    This works fine.

I click on a bundle I want and it tells me it is going to download the bundle in the background. It then refreshes the bundle list on the right hand side but the selected bundle never appears.

I am on Beta 9, STS app tools V 1 v200807010800 and behind a firewall

Default Bundle repository browser does not install bundles

    Paul,

does the 'View License' button work for you. I just want to confirm that the firewall configuration is correct. If that is the case then we have a problem with the way we configure the firewall for the http connection. Can you please provide some details about what firewall and authorization scheme you are using?

    Thanks.

    Christian

    Hi Christian

Yes the view license and search buttons work.

The firewall configuration is I think based on NTLM. In Windows I just have to configure a proxy ip address and port in Eclipse and I can get out to the internet. In Linux I use it without being logged into a Windows domain so I have to set http_proxy etc. In this scenario I am running in Windows though.

Our firewall in addition has some virus checking/content filtering stuff in it that means that downloading jars can take ages as you have to wait whilst the firewall software unzips jars files and has a look inside them

Worldheart - the bundles I am trying to install conform to the naming convention mentioned on your link and I am on beta 9 so hopefully that fixed the bug you noticed anyway.

Should I raise a Jira for this so it doesn't get lost ?

Default Bundle repository browser does not install bundles

Is it just a refresh issue inside Eclipse or is the bundle not downloaded to the PLATFORM_HOME/repository/bundles/usr directory?

    It's not downloaded at all.

    Example:

    Search on net.sf.cglib.beans
Find CGLIB Code Generation Library in list
Click check box, view license button is available and works
Click download button (dialog about background download used to appear but I checked box to rurn this off)
Screen refresh appears to take place
No download in PLATFORM_HOME/repository/bundles/usr (PLATFORM_HOME set correctly, double checked this)

    Hi Paul,

Yes, please raise a JIRA issue against the tools for this if you have not done so already.

    Thanks,

    Sam
