Default Can not install - Repos not responding http://.../milestone/TOOLS/update/e4.2

    Hi.

I'm trying to install STS from Eclipse/Available Software.
Unfortenately the client hangs on Pending when using http://dist.springsource.com/milesto...LS/update/e4.2

Trying with the nightly build is ok for listing, not for installing, as this also is depending on http://dist.springsource.com/milesto...LS/update/e4.2

    Error msg:
Communication with repository at http://dist.springsource.com/milesto...LS/update/e4.2 failed.
Communication with repository at http://dist.springsource.com/milesto...LS/update/e4.2 failed.
    Read timed out

    Hope someone can help.

Btw installing the full bundle from marketplace is not an option, as I don't have admin rights to run the installer.

    Thanks in advance.

This is most likely a firewall issue. Go to Preferences -> General -> Network connections to configure your proxies there.

    Hey!

    Two more comments:

#1: looks like you are using the milestone update site. Do you really indent to install a milestone build? I would recommend to use the release update site (replace "milestone" with "release").

#2: if you choose to install from the Eclipse Marketplace (from your running Eclipse), there is no STS-specific installer involved. It is the same than installing from an update site, just more convenient. As an alternative, you can also download the zipped version of STS as a ready-to-use package (instead of the installers). You would just need to unzip and run STS, that's it. The only thing you should take care of in that case is to run STS with the full JDK instead of an JRE only.
