Yes it's a Wrox book. In many ways it's hard to directly compare Spring and J2EE. Spring isn't J2EE, it doesn't reinvent the wheel, nor should it. It does provide integration and simplifications however. I would give the book a read, I found it very useful. I would have another read at some point, but one of my ex-work collegues "borrowed" my copy along with J2EE Design and Development and I doubt I'll see either again . They are both good books though, I might shell out for another copy.

but should be out there a comparation , of course are not the same , but spring is an excelent option to avoid or alternative against the cumbersome and heavy J2EE
