Looking for a notification manager

Does anybody know if there is an open source project like this?

Ideally I was looking for something written for Spring (that can easily integrate with the rest of the beans) and can manage multiple notification systems (email, SMS, IM, JMS, RSS, XML, streams) that could be plugged/unplugged via configuration or at runtime. Something highly flexible that would allow users and tasks to subscribe to it and send and receive event notifications (asynchronus would be a plus).

I would also be interested if such a project existed. 18 months ago we had to roll our own as we couldn't find anything. Be nice if there was something out there.
