Java Print Reports + Spring - suggestions

Hello guys

i need your experience and knowledge about this
i am assigned for a project and specialy for reports, but i need print (of course to a printer machine)
for a special type of paper dimensions like A4-A5 letter (but this is for payment report)
maybe for american terms could be receipt o bill o payment bill (the dimension of the paper can be different)
sorry for my grammar

the question or doubt is what framework/tool/library i should use and why???
exists jasperreports,itext,freemarker

which is better, etc etc etc

i need really your suggestions

some suggestion will appreciate

My last company used jasper reports which worked ok. We were just starting to look into using BIRT however as several customers already used that internally.

this can sound lazy, but where i can find a good documentation about jasperreport (learn to use it), thats mean is enough the documentation from the source or you know a better link???

We just used the documentation that came with it, I do remember some people complaining it wasn't the most helpful though. I would hope in the last couple of years it might have improved. There are lots of tutorials and articles out there if you are after some more help. There was a nice report designer as well, called iReport, I'm pretty sure that's what we used. Writing these things by hand isn't fun .

I would have thought there might be more than one review after all this time. Personally, I would try out the reference manual and see how you get on. You can always buy the book later. On the other hand, if your company is paying for it, I don't suppose it matters.
