It totally depends on what you need.

I would say:
have a look at the reference documentation:

And there are good books on Spring that give you a good picture of Spring:
I have read Pro Spring/Professional j2ee/Professional j2ee witout ejb and I`m currently reading Professional Java Development with the Spring Framework and they are all good books.
