popup menu. escape key, and cancel command

This may not be an issue with RCP specifically, but maybe someone here knows how to deal with this.

I have a dialog with a cancel button. The standard key bindings put in place by Spring RCP make the Escape key trigger the cancel command.

When I then raise a popup menu on that dialog page and press the escape key to cancel the popup menu, the entire dialog is canceled.

How do I get the escape key to only cancel the popup menu instead of the whole dialog?
