Currently there are a lot of non-core technologies integrated with Spring: Quartz, Hibernate, IBatis etc. Are these going to remain in the Spring core, or are they going to be moved to 'Spring Modules'?

Rob is soliciting contributors to the Spring Modules project, but I am still very unclear on its scope. What defines whether a third-party integration goes into the Spring Framwework project, as opposed to the Spring Modules project?

That's more of a judgement call rather than a particularly well defined thing. We we will be keeping the core as is, but there will be fewer things getting added to core, instead we hope that projects that want Spring integration with either do so themselves, use Spring Modules as a transitory place or just Spring Modules completely.

What's the best way to get started with Commons Validator using Spring Modules?

The documentation in the Spring Modules on this topic is almost non-existent.

Post on the mailing list. The Commons Validator support should be much improved for the 0.3 release.

    When is 0.3 being released?

I literally need something this/next week? I can put my validation stuff of till next week and work on future tasks first, if 0.3 is coming out in the next couple/few days.

Please help; the commons validator stuff will save me tons of time if I can get it working :-)

    Thanks.

I am no longer project lead on Spring Modules, that role now falls to Steven Devijver. He will be able to give you some more details about the release date for 0.3.
