I know this thread is quite old, but there is now a Jasper Reports addon for Spring Roo: jasperoo.digitalface.ca.
If you are not using Spring Roo, you may want to try out the examples anyways to see the configuration points.

In summary it is when I click on the image excel or acrobat it does not open .
