Default Why there are two sets of message property files?

I notice there are two sets of message property files under the webapp-typical in the pre-1.2 packeage. Is one of them for View while the other for controllers?

Which release and which files? They are probably for messages and view resolving.

    Thanks for your response.

I have the 1.1.5 version in my box. Under the samples/webapp-typical/war/WEB-INF/, one set of message property file has the name "example-messages" and the other is "messages".
