    Caused by: com.ibatis.common.beans.ProbeException: There is no WRITEABLE property named 'firstname' in class 'com.myclient.domain.Account'
    Seams like Account does not have not setFirstname method or even does not have any property called firstname at all.

    Can I see the mapping for the Account + the Account class please?

    Default ERROR: Context initialization failed

    I looked in the Account class and Account mapping. There is a setFirstName() method and a firstname property in the Account mapping.

    I tried almost everything, but keeps the error message: Context initialization faild. When i remove the contextLoaderlistener in web.xml my application is running= true in tomcat webapplication manager.

    But the problem is that i need the contextloaderlistener to startup Spring's root WebApplicationContext.

    Every help is apreciated

    I think the casing in your configuration is incorrect. Try this:

    Code:
     <resultMap id="result" class="com.myclient.domain.Account">
    <result property="username" column="user_id" />
    <result property="password" column="password" />
    <result property="email" column="email" />
    <result property="firstName" column="firstname" />
    <result property="lastName" column="lastname" />
    <result property="phone" column="phone" />
    </resultMap>
    Notice the casing of the property attributes for firstName and lastName.

    Like Rob already said, properties are case sensitive here.

    So iBatis try to set the value of 'firstname' which results in looking for a setFirstname(String) method. ("set" + capitalizeFirstCharacter(propertyName)).

    Again, the exception here is an error in your config file:

    <insert id="insertAccount">
    insert into account (email, firstname, lastname, phone, password, user_id) values (#email#, #firstname#, #lastname#, #phone#, #password, #username#)
    </insert>

    should be:

    <insert id="insertAccount">
    insert into account (email, firstname, lastname, phone, password, user_id) values (#email#, #firstname#, #lastname#, #phone#, #password#, #username#)
    </insert>

    Notice the additional # after password.
