    Default tcServer Installation and Configuration

    Hello -

We are in the initial phases of evaluating the Spring tc Server and one of the questions that keeps coming up is, can we run the tc Server as a separate standalone instance(like Tomcat) on a Windows or Unix servers without the vFabric setup?

For instance, can I just buy tc Server and the license and install it on a OS and deploy Spring based JAVA applications on it without having to buy the entire infrastructure of vFabric setup that comes with it?

If the above is possible, how easy or difficult is it to add extra components to it like the Hadoop module, Cloud support to the tc Server?

    Thanks,
    Sanjay.

    Hi Sanjay,

Yes, you can purchase just vFabric tc Server and tc Server can run standalone from other vFabric components.
    Here are the details: http://www.vmware.com/products/appli...erver/buy.html

Can you give me more information about what components you wish to add? tc Server has many templates that come out of the box. Right now, none are specific to Hadoop, but if you have a module in mind and it works with Apache Tomcat, it will also work with tc Server.

    HTH,

    Jason
