Default More Modern? STS 3.1.0 vs STS 3.2.0.M2

    Hi.

I'm new to STS and Eclipse.

I installed what I thought was the latest, greatest STS:

Spring Tool Suite 3.1.0.RELEASE - based on Eclipse Juno 4.2.1

However, I went back to the download page to look something up and I found:

Milestone Version - Spring Tool Suite 3.2.0.M2 - based on Eclipse Juno 4.2.2

I take it that "M2" stands for "Milestone 2".

Are "Milestone Versions", advanced releases not considered to be fully stable/fully test releases?

Thank you in advance for any information

    Steve

Yes. Usually "GA" or "RELEASE" are considered production. Milestones are mostly stable but not quite finished and just a step or two away from being considered the next release.

Generally, our Milestone releases for STS are fairly stable and there are few problems with them. If you are having any issues with our latest GA release, then I would suggest a milestone release.
