Roo shell issues in STS

Just cannot get the roo shell to respond in STS. Any simple command I type in the Roo shell via STS and it just hangs forever.

My versions - Spring Tool Suite

Version: 3.1.0.RELEASE
Build Id: 201210061306

Roo 1.2.2 Release.

I downloaded roo 1.2.3 and used that in STS and the hanging issue is now resolved.

Same problem. I have revised the log file and I found a lot of fails with dependencies, some jars have 'dissapeared' and it seems that Maven doesn't download them again.

Roo shell should have more information about problems or errors.

I didn't have these problems with Roo 1.2.2 in STS 3.1.0. Didn't use it heavily though. From your descriptions it does sound as if 3.1.0 didn't support Roo 1.2.2. But 1.2.2 is the version that comes with STS 3.1.0, no?

However, I went back to STS 2.9.2 as 3.1.0 is way too slow. I have Roo 1.2.3 installed, but haven't had a reason to use it yet.
