spring core certification vs training

Hi,

I would like to take the spring core certification and I was wondering if the training is mandatory ?
it is strange because on http://www.pearsonvue.com/, I can still register without having done any training.
what happens If I do so (register and taking the exam without the training)? I won't receive my certification ?

The certification voucher is provided at the end of class.
We cannot honor requests for certification without attending the course.

The web site is confusing and we are working with Pearson to clarify this.
