very NEW to grails!

Hello,

this is my first post here and my first grails project ever.
I am trying to build reports, but the thing is that this is all very new to me.
I have no idea where to start what to do and where to even click.
I downloaded spring tools suite and was given a link to a SVN project. I was able to to the import of the project (with the help of the CTO) and he told me to "run as grails run app" then I should be able to see a URL in the commands windows and after that upon clicking the URL I will get a browser and be able to work.
I right-clicked on the project and selected run as -> grails commands (run-app)
but nothing happened. I've been playing with this for several hours now.
But I don't even know what to look for or what to check.

So any tiny help would be appreciated.
I just need to get to the interface where I can edit the reports!
