In a previous thread I posted a question about why there isn't a "find" method in JdbcTemplate, or a query method that uses a RowMapper and would return null in the case of no results and not the EmptyResultDataAccessException.
A user directed me to use the SQLQuery operations that does have a find function. I looked it up in the spring docs and I read the following comment
However, if you are getting measurable value from using the RDBMS operation classes, continue using these classes.
What are the tangable benefits from using SQLQuery ? Is SQLQuery faster, more robust, easier and more maintainable ?
My systems are pretty simple so JdbcTemplate does us quite well, but we want to make an architectural change where we don't have to handle an exception when nothing found is expected and acceptable.
