The download link is working fine. You may not be able to access it if you're behind a corporate firewall. Actually thats the case with me, no download from Spring works till I'm accessing it from office network. Once at home, all links work fine.

Yes, this is for more than two days the case now. In JIRA somebody already opened a ticket, but it seems that nobody at vmware does care. STS/GGTS is a free product, and it looks like not paying customers are not worth looking at??
It is a DNS problem, the host http://download.springsource.com is worldwide unknown! vmware is a global company, so someone in asia or europe could look after the infrastructure, if there is a DNS problem. But it seems the world has to wait for the people on the west cost to care about this....

Look at http://isup.me/download.springsource.com
I Europe it is not reachable. Surprised that this works in india. Probably they fixed a DNS entry and it takes a couple hours to be replicated to most DNS servers around the globe.

There's a JIRA bug open for this; the short version is you can copy the link, replace "download" in the hostname with "dist", and use the resulting URL to get your file. Example:
Posted Link:
http://download.springsource.com/milestone/STS/3.2.0.M1/dist/e4.2/spring-tool-suite-3.2.0.M1-e4.2.1-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz
Adjusted Link:
http://dist.springsource.com/milestone/STS/3.2.0.M1/dist/e4.2/spring-tool-suite-3.2.0.M1-e4.2.1-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz

Thanks a lot jcttrll for this information. This seems to work.
However, if I try to download from eclipse marketplace I get the following errors:
The following solutions are not available: Spring Tool Suite (STS) for Eclipse Juno (3.8 + 4.2) (id=org.springframework.ide.eclipse.mylyn.feature. feature.group, org.springframework.ide.eclipse.autowire.feature.f eature.group, org.springframework.ide.eclipse.aop.feature.featur e.group, org.springframework.ide.eclipse.ajdt.feature.featu re.group, org.springframework.ide.eclipse.osgi.feature.featu re.group, com.vmware.vfabric.ide.eclipse.tcserver.insight.fe ature.group, org.springframework.ide.eclipse.roo.feature.featur e.group, org.springframework.ide.eclipse.security.feature.f eature.group, org.springframework.ide.eclipse.webflow.feature.fe ature.group, org.springframework.ide.eclipse.batch.feature.feat ure.group, org.springframework.ide.eclipse.maven.feature.feat ure.group, org.springsource.ide.eclipse.dashboard.feature.gro up, org.springframework.ide.eclipse.feature.feature.gr oup, org.springframework.ide.eclipse.integration.featur e.feature.group, org.springframework.ide.eclipse.data.feature.featu re.group, com.vmware.vfabric.ide.eclipse.tcserver.feature.gr oup, org.springframework.ide.eclipse.uaa.feature.featur e.group, site=http://dist.springsource.com/release/TOOLS/update/e4.2/)
It seems there is quite a lot broken on their infrastructure (Amazon S3 ??)

There was a system-wide failure of dist.springsource.com. Should be fixed now. Please try again.

Downloads work fine for me--thanks for fixing the issue!
I notice the links on the download page are now all dist.springsource.com instead of download.springsource.com, as before the incident. I have no idea if that's good, bad, or indifferent, but both hostnames appear to work at this point.
