Roo 1.2.2 Hangs

To Whom It May Concern:
Using Roo 1.2.2 on Ubuntu 10.04 AMD64 bit.
It launches slow. Then when I try something like 'hint' it hangs with 'still loading' msg in the upper right.
I know about the need for .spring_roo_pgp.bpg erasure.
Doesn't seem to help. Anyone have a clue?
I REALLY LIKE the idea of Roo, but not if it won't work.
Do let me know if you can.

BTW I booted up under (shudder) Windows 7, installed Roo there, and it seems to work very snappy there.
