Sample tutorial. Going from loggedout page to start page directly

Hi,
I am learning Spring Security, following the sample tutorial (spring-security-samples-tutorial-3.1.0.RELEASE.war).

I want to ask you for the next behaviour that for me seems a little bit strange or not "natural":
Why, if you want to go from loggedout page to start page, the applications drive you through the timeout page.

If you run it, you could see what I am saying.
