Using Sonar IDE plugin with STS

Hi, we're using STS 2.8.1, and I was looking to use the Sonar IDE plugin to get data from our Sonar server into my IDE.

I added the update site to STS, and then found that the plugin already seems to be installed.

Having a look at the Installed Software, agrees that it is installed.

However there doesn't seem to be anything for it in the Preferences dialog, and I can't seem to attach projects in.

I tried uninstalling the plugin, to then re-install it. But it can't be uninstalled due to other items depending on it.

Any thoughts as to why I can't 'see' the plugin or do configuration for it?

Hey Matt!

The Sonar IDE is not part of the standard distribution of STS. It seems like it got installed afterwards. Tell us what update site are using to install Sonar IDE and I can try that out locally.

Can you also give me some more details about: that is the feature id of the Sonar IDE that seems to be already installed in your STS? And what are the other items that are depending on it when you try uninstalling?

Hi,

Yeah, I checked one of the other guys machines here - and it wasn't there. Maybe my initial install didn't quite pan out - I thought it didn't work because it said it was already there - but it seems like it wasn't.

Anyway it seemed to be in very odd state. I've just gone through an removed the sonar folders from the features folder for STS and the plugins folder, then did a clean start. The install seems to have worked this time and it looks to all be working.

Sorry, should have given that a go first.
