There is some overlap in these two projects in particular to email and JMS functions. This would allow for a focus sub-project for the web service frameworks abstraction.

Since the Spring platform allows for mix-and-match on most of the stack this would still allow for web-service features without having to use the entire integration suite.

Spring integration would also take on the umbrella role for Spring AMQP, Spring Batch, Spring Blaze,... (like the Spring Data projects).

Maybe something to consider for the 3.0 planning efforts.
