SpringSource Tool Suite 2.8.1 RELEASE & dm Server

Hi All
I am new to STS and trying to set it up for a project. The project documentaion is based on STS version 2.6.1 and it talks about getting 'SpringSource dm Server Tools' installed. I came to know that dm Server has been removed from STS. Can someone help how to get dm Server and integrate it with STS? The requirement is to get EclipseRT as one of available Servers in STS. ( Right now it shows Basic, IBM, JBOSS, ObjectWeb, Oracle, SpringSource, VMware).

Hi Jasmeer,

the old dm Server tooling is no longer supported for STS versions beyond 2.7.2. You should switch to the Virgo IDE tooling which is now part of the Virgo project at Eclipse, but also under heavy development at the moment. You can find more information about the Virgo tooling here:

Thanks a lot. Let me install Virgo first. One concern is how to integrate it with STS? I hope it is not that complicated.

Hi Jasmeer!

You should be able to install the Virgo IDE into STS the same way as you install it into a regular Eclipse. I observed some incompatibilities in the past, but people reported on the Virgo forum that they successfully installed Virgo IDE into STS.
