MySQL Cloud Environment question

Hi everyone, question about cloud hosting: My organization is starting to examine some solutions in order to move our MySQL servers to a cloud service. We've been browsing around to find a suitable MySQL cloud environment, and so far there are several main ones (the attached link, for example, compares several such solutions including Amazon's).

I was wondering if a SpringSource solution might be suitable as well. I'm afraid I don't know much about the topic, but I'd be to hear feedback or comments from experienced users. Is the Foundry a similar solution, or is something else entirely? I'd be glad to hear any reviews or suggestions. Thanks

Cloud Foundry is a platform for running applications. As part of that platform, there are several services, one of which is a MySQL service. You would typically deploy your application to a Cloud Foundry provider, such as www.cloudfoundry.com, and that application would use one or more instances of the MySQL service.

There is currently no way for an application outside of Cloud Foundry to use a MySQL instance within it, although this should be feasible in the future. What does your organisation ultimately want to achieve?

I have some question about mysql and cloud.
Can we connect our gui to the database server ?
How can we backup data and load data ?

What about file, can we acces a file system to write file in it (store video for example)
