State of the project
Hi!
I'm starting a new project, a web application with a lot of REST API, and I thought to use Surf because I like the ease of creating REST api using webscripts, furthermore not everybody in the team know Java, so the possibility to write webscripts in Javascript is fantastic.
I tried to install the Surf plugin on my STS (v. 2.9.2.RELEASE), but it doesn't work (or at least it isn't immediate to make it work) and the project doesn't seem very followed...
Is it ready to be in production environment? We don't know how much can be the traffic of the application, and could be (I hope) the possibility that it have to scale, can be Spring Surf a good choice?

Hi,
Surf is still being developed, however it is primarily being developed for use by Alfresco (who have done all the development and contributed it to Spring). It can still be used independently of Alfresco but I would recommend posting questions to the Alfresco forums: http://forums.alfresco.com/forum/dev...ns/web-scripts or http://forums.alfresco.com/forum/dev...re-development (Alfresco Share is the primary use of Surf).
You can get the latest snapshots/milestones of Surf from the Alfresco maven repository: https://artifacts.alfresco.com
Regards,
Dave
