By the way, I created a new grails app - first through console, then imported it into STS. I didn't have this problem and didn't have to change any conf settings.

ok, setting that to false did work for me.

grails.enable.native2ascii = false

Same here. I reinstalled to c:\tools\springsource and got further than before.

I installed 2.2 Springsource tool suite. When I double click to start it - nothing happens. I tried running as administrator, same result.
