Positioning elements in jasper report

Hai all

How can i position elements precisly in jasper report.I want a column exactly1cm from the left.I am having a acrobat reader7.0 as pdf.When the print is verified the print is not exactly 1cm form the left margin.

I also need to position the element dynamically(i,e) passing the x and y position as parameters

I'm not that handy with the JasperReports format myself :)

You might want to try using something like JasperAssistant or alternatively drop a post on the JR forums - they should be much better equipped to answer your question.

Thanks for u r kind reply.I think that the only way to do it is to generate the report and compile it at runtime.let me try that.
