Javascript in roo-generated layout

this is my roo-generated layout with the filename default.jspx

Now I would like to modify it by adding some Javascript-Code from Google AdSense. But every time I paste the Javascript-Code directly into this default.jspx file, I get an internal server errror after publishig.
So how can I paste Javascript directly into the layout? :confused:
