CloudFoundry or VMForce?

Is CloudFoundry going to become VMForce (or work with VMForce), or be superseded by VMForce?

What's the product roadmap relationship with these two products for those of us interested in Spring cloud solutions.

What is exactly the difference between cloudfoundry and vmforce?

Cloud Foundry and VMforce are both Java platform offerings on top of industry leading clouds. While both have the ability to run Spring applications largely unmodified, there are some fundamental differences that will continue to differentiate the two platforms. First of all, Cloud Foundry and VMforce were developed specifically for AWS and Salesforce.com respectively. This means that they each take advantage of the unique services provided by the two cloud providers, which are quite different. Amazon's services involve lower level compute units, such as virtual machine instances and data storage; while Salesforce.com provides higher level enterprise friendly services, such as reporting, dashboards, contact management, etc. The goals of the consumers of these two clouds are quite different. Cloud Foundry focuses on creating an easy path for developers or organizations to deploy their existing or new Java Spring applications to the Amazon AWS cloud. Because of Cloud Foundry's focus on smoothing the onramp to the cloud, it gives users the maximum control over the environment and technologies used in application deployment and the management of those applications. VMforce, on the other hand, is a partnership between VMware and Salesforce to provide a complete Java platform to allow enterprises to easily interact and use their Salesforce.com data and integrate with the enterprise services and features. Due to the scalability demands and the Salesforce.com integration, it necessarily means that the platform has to be more prescriptive and managed. There are no doubt that there exists some potential for Java applications to overlap, but we do not see that one platform can be superseded by the other. We hope that you find both of our offerings useful and continue to help us refine and improve Cloud Foundry.

Any update on when VMforce will be available for developers? Haven't seen any changes just "Developer Preview coming soon"...

Cloud Foundry means is (the open platform as a service project initiated by VMware. It can support multiple frameworks, multiple cloud providers, and multiple application services all on a cloud scale platform) and
VMforce use in cloud computing and virtualization talking.

I have tried both of these, and i felt both are better in some or the other way.. There is not much difference in both, but some unique qualities change them...
