I've spent too much time trying to work around issues with the CF Grails plugin. I'm very appreciative of the basic capability set and the desire to provide a super-friendly entry point to CF but see the choice of only exposing the client API via the Grails plugin as a losing proposition. You are going to be continually chasing configuration and integration issues that are orthogonal to the feature set of CF. Please make a command line interface available that exposes the full console configuration set ASAP. Having build environment specific packagings (Maven, (G)Ant, Grails, etc...) is great as an addition to but not a replacement for the environment independent command line tools, no?
