We run into the ExceptionResolver issue with spring 2.5.5 (SPR-4973 jira).
Does anybody knows, when spring 2.5.6 is available with dm-server?
(in September the Spring Framework JIRA roadmap said release date in September,
now it says, 20/Oct).
As alternative, do we have a chance to update dm-server 1.0 (sources) with a Spring Framwork 2.5.6-SNAPSHOT? are there any details available how to build it?

P.S. source build of dm-server is cool, 8 minutes build and i got a dm-server-1.0 from sources, good work!

Hi Thomas,

Spring 2.5.6 is scheduled to be released this week.
We are considering including Spring 2.5.6 with the next maintenance release of the dm Server, which we hope to release in the next month or so. If we are able to include Spring 2.5.6 in SpringSource dm Server 1.0.1, you will then be able to profit from bug fixes from 2.5.5 to 2.5.6. Please consult the release notes for dm Server 1.0.1 as soon as it comes out for details.

Warning! / Achtung! / Cuidado! / ...
With the GPL source for the dm Server, you always have the option to build the sources however you like. However, only the pre-configured and thus tested configuration is supported in any way.
Caveat emptor: if you choose to build against an untested configuration, you are on your own.
Now that I've got the disclaimer out of the way, let me answer your question. ;)
Yes, if you choose to build the GPL sources of dm Server with a custom configuration, you may do so at your own risk. To change a dependency with which the dm Server is built, you will simply need to update the build.versions file accordingly, and be sure to test appropriately.
Good Luck!
And if it's a success, please let us know. ;)
P.S. source build of dm-server is cool, 8 minutes build and i got a dm-server-1.0 from sources, good work!
Kudos go to Ben Hale for smoothness of the build.

Sam

thanks, I've tried it and gave up, because I have currently no time to get ivy running with a local repository or find an ivy repository of spring framework snapshot anywhere (never used ivy before).
If dm-server build would be based on maven, it is easier to adopt.

we run dm 1.0.0 with a patched 2.5.5A version during the last weeks.
dm 1.0.1 contains 2.5.6, so we can use it now.
